Warming-up
周老师给出了三张小孩子的图片,让他们猜测这些是哪些同学的小的时候?
前两张是两位同学,第三张是她自己
询问同学们:Are you looking forward to becoming an adult,why?
周老师假设同学们回答:想要早点满18岁,因为可以拿到driving license。然后老师从口袋里面掏出了一个驾照然后把driving license写到黑板上。并说到that's a bonus for adult
周老师一边上阅读课,一边也通过Word Bank的方式处理阅读中的词汇。
继续问:Apart from driving out what else can you do at eighteen in China?
老师将假设同学们的回复写到黑板上,成为板书。
假设回答:You can have credit card and you can vote and you can have a job to earn your own bread
但是周老师还假设了有同学说不想早日18岁,So I can see you have different ideas on the rise and responsibility of growing up here today.
Three young people also wants to share their opinions in the passage.
引出文章三个年轻人的想法
1st Reading:Read for the text type
首先看题目:Let's read and find out the title The age of majority
看教材图片和文章结构猜测出自哪里
look at the picture,Where can you possibly read a passage like this。
在你可以在哪里读到这篇文章?询问文章的来源,假设同学回答,In the magazine so it's a column article
然后老师根据教材中文本图片来分析文章的结构以及所在杂志的专栏
个人信息板块被叫做personal recounts
封面上给出的introduction可以换成另外一个词orientation,周老师将这两个生单词做成单词条贴在黑板上
封面图片分析完了,然后进入了阅读环节
So please read the orientation or the introductory part very quickly and try to find what do you think these three young people will talk
假设学生回答you think they will answer the three questions in the orientation so let's look take a look at the questions.
电脑上将 orientation part放大,里面有几个问题,假设学生会回答提出的问题They will talk about the meaning of the rights and the new responsibility. Do you agree with her?It's very precise.

接下来进入阅读环节
Read and finish the cognitive map on your handout.
1.What are their expectations for eighteen
2. What's the reality。
3.How do they understand responsibility
周老师做了一个表格,要求大家将to expectation reality和reflection。根据文章内容将信息填在表格中,同时在黑板上写出这三个单词。
分别填写三个同学所对应的。

Are their expectation and their experiences all the same?
Absolutely not,What caused such differences?
假设学生回答,因为

Do you share anything in common
They share their responsibility from two aspects

3rd Reading: Read for critical understanding

在学生进行group Discussion时老师的衔接语
Okay so we still have one minute left so if there is any question you cannot solve within your group,Please write it down and you can send it to me with your ipad
学生有任何不能在小组讨论中解决的,就将其问题发用平板发给老师
后面依次解决2个提出的问题
第一个问题Why does Lin Ning say that turn eighteen also changed the way that society viewed me?
第二个问题What does Morgan mean by "some responsibilities are more about attitude than age?"
老师总结,The key to maturity is your attitude.板书
老师说,除了你们提出的问题,我也有问题要提出
老师提出了两个问题。

老师自己制作了一张表格图,让其他同学来评论或者提问刚刚上来表述的同学对18岁的计划
At some point at certain point. If we might be expecting for eighteen but remember that it becoming mature is not about eighteen is not about the number but about yes your acceptance of responsibility and that is the key.(总结升华)

周老师这堂课上的非常的生动,虽然台下没有学生,但是仍然非常好的预设了学生可能会回答的问题,整堂课行云流水,非常的自然,语音语调也非常的好听,为她点赞!
